The Southampton soccer club officially confirmed that Red Devils are interested in buying Sadio Mane. Earlier there were rumors about a possible transfer deal and a $24 million bid for the midfielder. Though information about the bid was not confirmed, Southampton admits that Manchester United contacted them about a new contract for Mane.
From Saints to Devils
Mane will not be the only one Saints’ player, who was bought by Red Devils. Louis Van Gaal, United’s manager, has already bought Morgan Schneiderlin and Luke Shaw from Hampshire’s club. Both, Shaw and Schneiderlin will help the team to improve its defense. Mane will probably handle offensive responsibilities.
The United’s interest in Mane is comprehensible. The Saints’ midfielder has debuted in the Primer League with an impressively high score last season. He has scored ten goals and has made the fastest hat trick in the Premier League history. The winger has also scored for Hampshire’s club during the latest Europa League games.
Along with Saints, Mane plays at the international level for the Senegal national team. He has 6 goals in 22 games for the team. This is why Southampton FC manager Ronald Koeman will probably hesitate to sell his winger.
It is worth mentioning that Red Devils do not feel a lack of wingers, but Van Gaal can easily change Mane’s position on the field. Red Devil’s head can use the Senegalese soccer player as a striker for the upcoming UEFA Championship League.
Russian forward can also join Manchester United
Aleksandr Kokorin, Moscow Dinamo’s forward can also join the Manchester United team. According to the message of Russian news agency TASS, Red Devils are interested in buying the striker. Moreover, the deal can be reached in the next few days, before the transfer window will be closed.
But, alongside with Manchester United, there are two more soccer clubs interested in Kokorin. Russian club Zenit and British club Tottenham are both willing to see Russian striker on their side. Kokorin has 38 goals for Dinamo and eight more goals for the Russian national team. In total, he has played almost 200 games for both teams.
